The other day, I went to one of the largest Barnes and Noble that I have ever visited. (Mind you I've only been to one before this ) I didn't pay much attention to regular books because I wanted to check up on my favorite mangas that I can't afford right now. Before I left the store, I noticed the journal section. It was only a few short stacks of journals, but they were sooooo beautiful. The leather bound ones gave way to an images of philosophers, revolutionaries, statesmen, and scientists making an imprint of their souls on the pages.

I was about to leave again when I saw the quill and calligraphy set selection. Being turned on by quills as I am, I had to check that section out. They had feathered quills, quill sets that came with their very own wax seal, and a wide range of different quills and inks. This is the only time that I can honestly say I like being broke because I would have bought more than a hundred dollars worth of the stuff.

In about a month, I want to go back and  get a couple of leather bound journals and a couple of quills. Ahhhh, quilllllllls......

Wow - no Barnes and Nobles near you? I guess I am spoiled. There is a Borders three blocks in one direction from work and a Barnes and Nobles three blocks in the other. Plus numerous little bookstores.

As for journals, I keep a notebook for when I travel or for random thoughts. It's a Moleskine and is extremely durable.

Amazon.com has them fairly cheap.

Well, there's a couple of Barnes and Nobles around. I just didn't have a reason to go into one when I lived really close to Borders.

I haven't even thought of checking Amazon.com for journals. Brilliant!

"images of philosophers, revolutionaries, statesmen, and scientists making an imprint of their souls on the pages."

i am sad to report that most people who write in those journals are like me, depressed people who want to bitch and moan about their lives inside very pretty covers to give our meaningless lives and thoughts the illusion of importance, lol. =)

I'm kind of the same way :( :). However, writing with a quill forces me to examine my thoughts more carefully than usual. It's probably the reason the only short stories that I completely were written by quill. ( Not the fancy feathered quill, but a quill used for inking the lines in my awful anime renderings)

I love quills and journals when they're all made special and look great...and then help me write well! ^________^ *Hearts them along with you*
