Woke up to the sound of banging and clanging courtesy of my Uncle this morning. I should've been cranky, but I wanted to wake up earlier anyway. No harm done. While I was laying down, I decided to browse Reddit on my phone.

Read a Guardian opinion piece about living in poverty and how difficult it is to be upwardly mobile. Some corporate business practices makes it difficult for people to work and plan their expenses ahead. Working hours can be very haphazard. One week you're working at least six hours for seven days. The next week you only have a day or two of work. I'm very lucky that I don't have a family of my own to worry about. I'm able to at least spend my personal time to attempt to study to pull myself out of the quicksand of poverty. Whenever I get frustrated, I focus on that and my health which is remarkably great considering I haven't had a proper checkup since my 18th birthday (12 years ago).

Trying to study for the CompTIA A+ exam, but my attention keeps wandering. This usually doesn't happen, so I may have to switch up my study habits to get through with the book and take the mock exams to see the areas I need to improve. Sometimes it's smarter to bang your head against something and learn how to overcome it. I think that we tend to attribute intelligence to coming up with answers easily rather than learning how to overcome obstacles and reaching your goal.

Now I'm sitting with my cup of tea, hoping that I'm able to concentrate enough for meaningful studying (or to come up with another way to study). I might start on my outline for Nanowrimo today or for a short story.
